Introducing Wayne
Background
From a small town in Co.Offaly emerged a singer songwriter with a difference. From an early age this young man showed great interest and potential in music, showing talents for playing guitar, bass, flute and percussion. As time passed he became more diversified and experimental in his playing and style. As nature would have it he became more creative with each passing year and soon he was writing his own music and lyrics. Many early songs emerged as he progressed from the bedroom to centre stage and public appearances became a regular occurence in his local area. He moved to Paris and spent 3 years living in the french capital soaking up the culture and language. On returning to Ireland he moved to Dublin with the aim of gaining further recognition, which brings us here today for the unveiling of something new, diverse, exciting, energetic, passionate... ladies and gentlemen we are here to present the music of Wayne Brennan!
Style
A self taught player who has a progressive and energetic style of guitar playing. From early learning he progressed in areas of thrash metal, then came the era of grunge music. However, he more or less abandoned his electric guitar for the acoustic guitar, feeling that he could understand more the clear undistorted calming sounds of the clean acoustic guitar. Artists such as Hendrix, Knopfler, Clapton opened his eyes to potential methods and he became fascinated with the unlimited well of creativity in finding one's own style of playing. Today we can hear influences of flamenco, blues, blue-grass, reggae, country, rock and pop in his songs. We encourage you to listen to the sample of "And I Love" or "Green Green Grass" if you like uptempo feel good love songs or if you would prefer a more mellow tune then listen to "Moving Me" and you are sure to be moved yourself! This piece should certainly make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end! There is no more I can say at this point, except don't come this far without sampling a track or two!! Enjoy...
